Skyline Silhouette Linz

March 2012

Looking for silhouettes of European cities I noticed that Google does not find one for my hometown Linz and so I started this exciting and challenging project.

A lot of research and a few exploration tours with my camera finally led to a panorama-like illustration with plenty of details and high accuracy. The total of 6 layers are shaded from front to back in fresh green. The alternative version comes trashy with retro colors combined with a rough paper texture and looks like a night scene.

Time needed:
30 hours

Used means:
- Google Earth & Google Maps
- more than 130 pictures from the internet
- bike & camera for my exploration tours
- internet: research about all the heights of the most important buildings, hills, etc.
- Illustrator + Photoshop
